Travelling to telluride
If you are travelling from Denver or planning on flying into Denver International Airport there are 2 main ways to get to Telluride. You can either drive, which will give you the opportunity to see some fantastic views. However, it is approximately a 7 hour drive if you stop for lunch. So please be prepared to schedule a full day of travelling. Alternatively, you can fly directly from DIA to the Montrose Airport, which is approximately a 1 hour flight one way. United, Southwest, and American Airlines all have direct routes from Denver to Montrose and there are rental car options form there.

We highly recommend that you plan on arriving in Telluride either on that Thursday or Friday to give yourselves enough time to rest and relax before the big weekend. You do not need 4 wheel drive to travel in the mountains, but higher clearance vehicles are recommended for the Ceremony Site at Alta Lakes.

hotel and Airbnb options
If you want a hotel room, book early and explore all options. We do not have any blocked rooms set aside. Many of the hotels in the town of Telluride itself book up fast during the Jazz Festival weekend and they tend to be expensive. Here is a list of hotels where you could stay in town as recommended by the organizers of the Jazz Fest. You can also explore nearby towns with cheaper hotel options such as Montrose, Ouray, or Rico. We also suggest looking at Vrbo or Airbnb, especially if you are large family or group.
